Law of Success

Right now I am currently reading the The Law of Success: The Master Wealth-Builder’s Complete and Original Lesson Plan for Achieving Your Dreams by Napoleon Hill. I have to say, this book is AMAZING. When I walked into Barnes and Noble a couple of weeks back, I said the following prayer “Please God give me a book that will contain everything that I need to know about success and that I already know in an outlined and efficient manner.” What was the first book I picked up? You guessed it, the Law of Success by Napoleon Hill.

For those who don’t know who Napoleon Hill is, he was an American author of the now famous book Think and Grow Rich
(over 7,000,000 copies sold). In that book, Hill outlines a process of success that if one followed, could grant for them all the riches they desire. Hill’s work is based on the study of over 500 of the most successful men and women of that time “Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, George Eastman, Henry Ford, Elmer Gates, John D. Rockefeller, Sr., Charles M. Schwab, F.W. Woolworth, William Wrigley Jr., John Wanamaker, William Jennings Bryan, Joseph Stalin, Theodore Roosevelt, William H. Taft, Woodrow Wilson, Charles Allen Ward and Jennings Randolph.”

The Law of Success covers the following:

Introduction: Mastermind

Lesson 1. A Definite Chief Aim

Lesson 2. Self-Confidence

Lesson 3. The Habit of Saving

Lesson 4. Initiative and Leadership

Lesson 5. Imagination

Lesson 6. Enthusiasm

Lesson 7. Self-Control

Lesson 8. The Habit of Doing More Than Paid For

Lesson 9. Pleasing Personality

Lesson 10. Accurate Thought

Lesson 11. Concentration

Lesson 12. Concentration

Lesson 13. Failure

Lesson 14. Tolerance

Lesson 15. The Golden Rule

The introduction section on the power of a mastermind group started a bit slow for me as I had read about that subject in Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich. After that though, the book really picks up and is one of the best books I have ever read. Although the book is over 600 pages in length, do not let that deter you! Everything you are going to need to have a successful life has been placed for you in order, with each chapter building on the next, so that you can have whatever kind of success you desire.

I really wish I had read this book when I was 13 or 14. It would have changed the whole course of my life and saved me years and TONS of time, money, and headache in projects that weren’t in alignment with what I truly wanted.

Pick this book up and read it. You owe it to yourself to do it. There is also an easy personality assessment so that you can see where you are in relation to success or failure and why you may or may not be succeeding at this time.

Tomorrow I will write about the importance of finding your definite chief aim in life.
