Books 1.
Rays of the Dawn by Dr. Thurman Fleet
This is the first book I would recommend to anyone, whether they were a seasoned veteran in the world of self-help or just getting started for the first time. Rays of the Dawn; Natural Laws of the Body, Mind, and Soul covers just that, the known natural laws of the body, mind, and soul. The laws are explained to you in an easy to understand manner and there are also menus in the chapter on the “Law of Nourishment” so that you can properly combine your meals. As for the Mind and Soul, the book breaks those up into two sections and according to polarities. So for instance, if you were to read the chapter on “Fear” first, you would then read the chapter on “Faith” next. Opposites/Polarities:
MIND ◄—► SOUL
MANY ◄—► ONE LIFE
DISEASE ◄—► HEALTH
FEAR ◄—► FAITH
WORRY ◄—► HOPE
SELFISHNESS ◄—► GENEROSITY
VANITY ◄—► ASPIRATION
ANGER ◄—► PATIENCE
CRITICISM ◄—► SYMPATHY
ENVY ◄—► NON-INTERFERENCE
GREED ◄—► KINDNESS
HYPOCRISY/SELF-CONDEMNATION ◄—► COURAGE
PREJUDICE/INTOLERANCE ◄—► FORGIVENESS
JEALOUSY ◄—► DUTY
HATE ◄—► LOVE
EGO ◄—► REAL SELF
ENDLESS FEARS/DESIRES ◄—► PEACE *
Any two opposites are the SAME thing in different degrees. For example, where there is faith, there is no fear.*
ANYTHING and I mean just about ANYTHING by Dr. Fleet is amazing. This book has SO much spiritual power! It will really transform you as you read it.
2. Think and Grow Rich: The Landmark Bestseller–Now Revised and Updated for the 21st Century by Napoleon Hill This is one of the best selling inspirational books of all time and for good reason. Hill was taught by Andrew Carnegie, one of the richest men who ever lived, all of his principles behind success and wealth creation. Hill then put those principles into this book and shares it with you. I strongly recommend it for anyone who would like to see the role their mind and imagination plays in creating their success and also the steps to being successful.
3. The Success Principles(TM): How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be This book is written by Jack Canfield, author of the famous Chicken Soup for the Soul books and also a speaker in the law of attraction film, “The Secret”. In the book, Canfield covers the various principles he believes one needs in order to be successful. I really love this book due to its simplicity and the large number of areas it covers. Each chapter is usually only a few pages long and nearly everything from releasing negative experiences from your past, to making new images and affirmations, and even how to invest your money are all covered in it.
4. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Ecker
Another great book on wealth creation. In it Ecker talks about how just like you can set your home thermostat to whatever temperature you like, you can also set your personal financial thermostat to whatever temperature you like. Ecker says that each of has a “financial blueprint” for success and by changing our subconscious blueprint to one that is successful, we will become financially successful. The book provides exercises for the reader to do to rid themselves of any negative concepts they might have acquired in the past and Ecker has a passion for wealth creation that really comes out as you read.
5. The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It
This book has done too much for me to not mention it. In my opinion, it should be required reading by ANYONE who plans on starting a business. It basically states that a business should be looked at like its own independent entity and that the reason most entrepreneurs fail is because they get stuck inside the day to day operations of their business. Gerber states that instead of going to work in your business, you should go to work ON your business. You should look at it as if it was its own separate entity that should be able to run without you. If your business cannot run without you being there, then you don’t have a business, you have a JOB. When I read this book my income went WAY up and the amount of time I spent working went WAY down. I was now making thousands of dollars every month working only five hours a month.
6. Personal Development for Smart People: The Conscious Pursuit of Personal Growth
I just started this book and so far it has been GREAT. It really made me a take an honest look at certain areas of my life and make the proper adjustments.
CDs
1. MP3 Format: Self-Talk – Lifetime Library of Positive Self-Talk
I HIGHLY recommend these CDs. These CDs are called “self-talk” CDs as the purpose of them is to change the way you talk to yourself. By talking more positively to yourself, you’ll take more positive actions and achieve better results in your life. Also, through repetition, these CDs will reprogram your subconscious with their powerful positive messages. As your subconscious becomes impressed with these new positive ideas, it will go about seeking to manifest them in your life. There are eight CDs total which cover:
• 1 — SELF-ESTEEM
• 2 — TAKING CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE
• 3 — HEALTH & FITNESS
• 4 — CAREER ACHIEVEMENT
• 5 — FINANCIAL SUCCESS
• 6 — POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS
• 7 — PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
• 8 — QUALITY OF LIFE
Helmstetter has a really powerful and motivating voice that comes through great on the CDs. Each CD has four tracks on it that vary from eight to thirteen minutes in length. I use to listen to these CDs quite frequently while driving in my car or while working on my computer. In fact, I recently started playing these CDs again as they had such a powerful effect on me before. Sure enough, I started seeing positive results nearly immediately. Also, I felt much better as I went through my day.
The CDs have a ton of powerful affirmations on them and are done in both the first “I am” and second “You are” tones of voice. By the way, when I first started listening to these CDs my previous business had a positive increase in sales by something like $8000 in one month. There is a great story Helmstetter tells about how he use to have his weight-loss self-talk cassette (they were on cassette at that time) play while he shaved every morning. In 10 ½ weeks while listening to the cassettes, he lost 38lbs!!! And he wasn’t on a diet. Also, his wife, who use to share the same mirror every morning to put on her makeup, lost 25 lbs simply by overhearing the messages played in the recording.
DVDs
1. Louise Hay
Just about anything by Louise Hay is incredibly good. She has a beautiful voice and a gift for simplifying even the most complex ideas. Her products are very well-done and will clearly explain how you can go about achieving the results you want.
2. The Secret is a feel-good movie that focuses on the law of attraction. For those unfamiliar with the law of attraction, the law of attraction simply states that “like attracts like”. So if you’re putting out thoughts of love, happiness, and wealth, you can expect to receive those in return. While The Secret doesn’t go into great depth on exactly how the law of attraction works, it does do a great job in introducing someone to the basic principles of attraction. I’m a big fan of this movie and like to recommend it to people who might be getting into New Age type thinking for the first time. I personally prefer the “>original version as highlighted above but here is a link to the “>extended version for those who want it. The original version has Esther Hicks speaking in it and I think she comes off very well.
