The Law of Attraction

by Tony on January 8, 2010

We’ve all had that moment where we’re thinking of somebody and suddenly they call. Or we’re talking about someone and out of the blue they walk in the room. If you’ve ever wondered why that happened, or how other things like that appear in your life, it’s because of the Law of Attraction. Many people feel the Law of Attraction is the most powerful of nature’s laws because it’s how everything comes into your reality. Once you understand the Law of Attraction, your life can be truly amazing.

How It Works

The Law of Attraction was originally called the Law of Vibration and should still be called that as it paints a more accurate picture of how this law operates. The Law of Vibration basically states that everything vibrates. While you and I appear solid, there are electrons within both of us that are vibrating at the rate of 186,300 MPH.

Now why is this important? Within each of our minds are millions of brain cells. Within each of these brain cells are millions of atoms, and each atom is composed of electrons, protons, and neutrons. Every time you think a thought, it causes brain cells associated with your thought to begin vibrating abnormally. As these brain cells vibrate, they give off energy in the form of electromagnetic waves or vibrations, due to the millions or billions of electrons within them. These electromagnetic waves go out and land on people who are in harmony, or resonance with them and the respond to your vibration. Your brain is literally an electrical instrument attracting to you everything you see in your life.

There’s a process out there that works similar to this, it’s called the radio. Right now there are radio waves being broadcasted throughout the air all over the world. If you were to take a radio and set it to the same frequency as the waves being broadcasted, the radio would begin to play whatever kind of music or program it receives. The same process works for people!

You’re walking around all day either consciously or unconsciously thinking a series of thoughts. As you think these thoughts, the vibrations that you are broadcasting are going out and landing on people who are in harmony with them. When I say your vibrations are landing on people, what I mean is that they are landing on people who have similar brain cells as the one’s you are vibrating. Based on what you’re vibrating, the people are going to respond either positively or negatively to you. For instance, if you’re thinking a series of negative thoughts, these thoughts are going out and landing on people who are in harmony with them and they will respond to you! (usually negatively)

If you don’t like what you are seeing in your life right now, change your thoughts! Start broadcasting something different. If you want more love in your life, start thinking loving thoughts. If you want more kindness in your life, start thinking kindly! These thoughts will attract people who are in harmony with them. Also, under the Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Radiant Energy, for every amount of energy you put out, a like amount must be taken on! So it behooves you to start thinking positively.

Happy People

There’s another reason that you should think positively. When you do, it insulates you against the negative vibrations of others. Their negative vibrations will no longer affect you and these negative people, circumstances, and events will discontinue being a part of your existence.

We’ve all heard the saying “Birds of a feather flock together.” This law explains why! These “birds” or people are broadcasting the same frequency! Negative people can only attract negative people. If they happen to come into contact with someone who is in a positive frequency or state of mind, either the negative person has to become more positive or the positive person has to become more negative. The two cannot interact as they are. That’s also a good reason to choose as your friends people who are optimists or think positively. They’ll help keep you in a positive state of mind which means you’ll be attracting more good into your life.

On a physical level, when you’re thinking about new positive images and thoughts, you’re literally creating new neural pathways and brain clusters associated with this new way of thinking. As these new brain cells and clusters take root and form, they begin to vibrate and attract to you people, situations, circumstances, and events that are in resonance with their vibration. These cells vibrate from the time they are created until the time you die, nonstop, twenty four hours a day, attracting to you things that are in alignment with them. By forming new positive ways of thinking, it’s like putting your brain on twenty-four hour autopilot to bring positive things into your life.

When you read and study positive material such as this book “you are creating new brain cells and these are of the positive type.” As you read, learn, and grow, you’re literally becoming more in tune with the good of life.

Now if you’re not sure what you’re broadcasting, just check to see how you feel at any given point of time. We have what author Esther Hicks likes to call an “Emotional Guidance System.” Our Emotional Guidance System basically lets us know what we’re broadcasting by way of how we feel. If we feel good, then our thoughts are good. If we feel bad, then our thoughts are bad. It’s that simple.

It’s been said that the average human has thousands of thoughts every day. Trying to keep track of them all could be quite grueling so instead just ask yourself; “How do I feel?” If you feel good, then you know you’re thinking good thoughts and putting out a good vibration. If you feel bad, then immediately begin to think of something better. Never entertain negative thoughts. Always move to a better feeling thought.

Changing Thoughts

There’s a few ways that you can change your negative thoughts to positive ones. First, you can move to a better thought. For instance, if you’re feeling down about something, say a lack of money, you can start thinking about how great your health is. Or you can begin to think of things you’re grateful for. If you start going through a list of say ten things you’re grateful for, by the time you get to item ten, you should feel much better.

Replacing

Another way to change negative thoughts is to take whatever negative thought that pops into your mind and replace it with it’s positive opposite. For instance, “I won’t get into shape” would be replaced with “I will get into shape”. As you do this method more and more, you’ll develop a new way of positive thinking. Thinking positively will become second nature to you and it’ll feel odd or weird to have negative thoughts or feelings. Also, you’ll be able to catch yourself thinking negatively much earlier then before which will make it easier to switch to positive thoughts.

Something Different

The third and sometimes easiest way to change negative thoughts is to do something different. If you’re thinking about how bad your life is, go for a run. If you’re thinking about something depressing, go punch your pillow ten times. Do something to let that energy out constructively. As you do this, it’ll release your tension and have you feeling better.

Something Worse

If you’re ever feeling bad about something, say your financial condition, you can always compare your situation to something way worse. For instance, I once had the pleasure of taking a homeless man out to dinner. For weeks after that experience, whenever something that would appear negative would happen to me, I would simply say, “At least I’m not homeless.” By comparing my situation to one that was much worse, suddenly it didn’t feel so bad.

Recap

I’m going to recap this process one more time. Every time you think a thought it causes brain cells to begin vibrating abnormally. This vibration goes out and lands on people who are in harmony with them. Based on the images and thoughts you are entertaining, you’re attracting people, situations, circumstances, and events that match up with your vibration.

EXERCISES:

Here are a couple of exercises you can do to begin putting this law into effect now.

1. Go into a public place and begin thinking extremely positive thoughts. The more powerful your thoughts, the stronger the vibration you’ll be putting out. Someone will react to what you’re broadcasting.

You can also try this on the negative side however I would not recommend it. Let’s focus on the good.

2. Think of three things you would like in your life; one small, one medium, and one large. By small it could be something as small as a cup of coffee or a sandwich. By medium it could be a bike, letter, $100, whatever you consider to be a medium item. By large, make it something large; a new job, raise, car, house, etc.

Spend a minute or two every day feeling the feelings as if you had your three items now. Based on the vibration you’re putting out, someone will bring to you what you’re broadcasting. The images you’re holding in your mind are being broadcasted from you onto the person who is in the same vibration as you.

This exercise is how I originally tested the Law of Attraction. For my something small I decided to focus my thoughts on an avocado, turkey, and bacon sandwich. I visualized myself eating the sandwich and felt the feelings as if I were eating it at that moment. About thirty minutes later, my gym partner shows up early to my house and tells me that he decided to bring us sandwiches. What did he bring me? A turkey, avocado, and bacon sandwich. When asked why he brought me that sandwich, and a sandwich in the first place, he replied; “I dunno. I just had that feeling you might like one.”

By the way, prior to that day my workout partner had never brought me any food. I then tried this process for bigger items and had similar amazing results.
