What are you thankful for?

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it has me asking the question, what are you thankful for? There’s so much each of has to be grateful for. In fact, I would guess there are probably thousands if not MILLIONS of things that we could be grateful for right now. Everything from the weather outside (it’s nice where I’m at), to the clothes on your back, to the computer you’re reading this on are all items that would count.

I decided to do a write-up about this subject while I was staying at my Aunt’s house last week. My Aunt has a beautiful home and family and I go and stay with them anytime I feel like getting away for a few days. I said “Thank you God for my amazing family, for this delicious food I am about to eat (I was finishing my 6 day cleanse), for my beautiful Godson, for my knowledge of these spiritual laws…” and as I was going through what I was grateful for it hit me that there are SO many things I could be grateful for that I don’t even realize.

The Divine/God/The Universe, whatever you would like to call this amazing power has spent A LOT of time perfecting things up to the point where they are now. We live in an era where you can walk in any market and buy food, any mall and buy clothes, walk down the street and meet amazing people, go in a free library and expand your mind, and much more. So when people say, “My life sucks”, the fact of the matter is that they’re life doesn’t suck, they’re just not focusing on the right things, or rather, things they can be grateful for.

When you’re giving thanks, you’ve put yourself into a positive vibration to attract more things to be grateful for. It’s a cycle that works in your favor. Also, as you focus on the good in your life, you oftentimes will find more of it. You’re no longer complaining, finding fault, or getting angry with life or your circumstances. You’re now happy, grateful, relaxed, and peaceful.

On a physical level just think of the numerous health benefits you’ll receive simply by developing “an attitude of gratitude” as Lisa Nichols likes to say. Anytime I get really angry I immediately tell myself to relax, BREATHE, and start to go through ten things I am grateful for. I really try to feel the gratitude as I go through each item. Almost immediately I will calm down and get a better grip on the situation. Suddenly what looked like such a big deal is no longer worth getting upset about. Also, I each day by naming ten things I am grateful for. It’s a great way to fall asleep. It puts you into a positive vibration, has you focused on the good, and moves you closer to the Divine.

Exercise: What are you grateful for? You can either grab a pen and paper and list ten items or just go through them in your head. I want you to really feel the gratitude as you go through each item. I usually have a big smile on my face by the time I finish this exercise as it is really puts me into a good state.
